Market Validation A better understanding of the target market will help build a better, more focused product. It is the process of testing how relevant and desirable a product or concept is by conducting user research. It is designed to understand, at the earliest possible stage, whether an idea is worth developing further. ​ Illustration of deeper understanding of the market including definition of target market. Realistic, measurable and achievable business activities, milestones, resource allocations and timelines must be provided. (b) Team Competency Business team members may not necessarily have relevant and suitable experience and expertise with a good track record, but must have a well-rounded team with financial, relevant technical and marketing background. Business team members especially the founder must have the relevant and complementary expertise. Where there is a gap, business should identify how to fill in the gap.     What is Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) Industry Business Academy (IBA)? ​ Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) launched the Industry Business Academy (IBA) in July 2016 as an integral component of MSME developmental programme to provide knowledge for need to start, grow and export a business. DARe IBA is normally set in a workshop style training while talks and sharing sessions are also an integral part of the programme. Subject matter experts from the public and private sectors are engaged to provide industry specific knowledge for aspiring entrepreneurs and seasoned entrepreneurs alike. The duration of each module can run from half a day up to a maximum of four days. We are motivated to provide a comprehensive training that would benefit local businesses as much as possible. Classes typically seat up to (but not limited to) 30 people, and space is reserved on a first come first serve basis.     Are you running - or thinking - about starting a micro business (1-4 employees)? ​ The national body for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) is rolling out a new training programme specifically for youth running or looking to start a micro business – defined as enterprises with four employees or less. The micro bootcamp – open to Bruneians and permanent residents – will take participants through a rundown of what the fundamentals are in starting, running and growing micro business by business coaches. There are no fees, however applicants will go through a round of shortlisting after attending a one-day ideation workshop, where their ideas will be pitched and assessed. Once selected, the micro business will undergo a 4-week business programme where you learn the fundamentals of starting, running and growing a micro business (defined as a business of less than 4 employees).     FAQs Program Elevate ​ A structured program and customized assistance for high-growth potential companies through tailored strategic roadmaps, various business coaching sessions and mentorship, networking, funding advice and solutions as well as access to other DARe’s development programs. ​ ​ ​ What is the objective of the program? ​ The objective of the program is to facilitate and grow promising Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) to be more sustainable and resilient capable of international expansion and collaboration and contributing to Brunei’s industrial development. ​ How does the program work? ​ Elements of the program will include aspects of business coaching, mentoring, internationalization strategies, technology and industry development and funding with regular monitoring over a five year period. ​ ​ ​ Who are the target participants? ​ The targeted participants for Program Elevate are the established businesses with over $100k in annual revenue with a strong desire to expand and high growth potential. ​ We have launched the first cohort in August 2020 for the Food and Beverage sector.
