The ASEAN NEXT 2021: ASEAN Summit on Spin-Off Technologies Date: 5th October 2021 Venue: Virtual Conferencing Organizer: The Department of Science and Technology of the Philippines Registration Form Registration Guidelines Event Information: The ASEAN Summit on Spin-off technologies will be a one-day virtual event that aims to bring together research and development institutes, business and industry players, government, and academe in ASEAN who are involved in generating spin-off enterprises, to encourage growth and competitiveness. This Summit aims to forge linkage between enterprise and scientific organizations, incorporate specialized human capital, generate innovations (new products/services, and processes) with value added to strategic sectors, and contribute to the creation/protection of intellectual property. Target sectors: (i) Agriculture, aquatics, and natural resources ii) Health iii) Industry, engineering, and emerging technology. Expected Outcomes: Promote MSMEs both individually and/or in collaboration with a university/research center and an industry partner; Reorient R&D towards the needs and realities of enterprises, reinforcing their role in social and economic development; Engage relevant stakeholders for access to resources for innovation, as well as knowledge transfer and sharing of best practices of successful innovation processes; Facilitate capacity building and technological upgrading of MSMEs through sharing of knowledge and access to technological resources; and Establishment of a B2B or G2B platform for discussion Program Activities: Plenary Session This session shall invite esteemed speakers to deliver their keynote addresses to share important information and set the tone for the programme. Pitching Sessions This session would focus on startups and spin-off companies to present in front of an ASEAN-wide audience. The pitching sessions will be organized in three (3) separate breakout rooms and are arranged according to sectors. B2B and B2G Meetings This would be an exclusive meeting scheduled wherein interested parties can engage in private breakout rooms. The list of participating companies will be sent out once finalized General Eligibility: Startups or Spin-off Companies from sectors: Agriculture, aquatics, and natural resources Health Industry, engineering, and emerging technology. Affordable space for youth to start, run and grow their business in DARe’s Ready Built Factories (RBF). What does Youth Ground Offer? Affordable Rent Various Unit Sizes cater to different business needs Lower Initial deposit Great location Criteria Open to Youth applicants only (18 to 35 years old) Startups are welcome Each applicant is only allowed to apply for one unit Brief business plan must be submitted (Eligibility Criteria ) Sole Proprietorship and Private Limited companies are welcome FAQs Where is Youth Ground (YG) located? Selected units allocated for Youth at DARe RBF: Beribi, Serambangun, Pekan Belait & SPARK (Office Space). How much is the rental? Rental details are available here Deposit equivalent to one-month rental is required in advance Rent is required to be paid in advance, during the first week of the month When will the rental start? Approval upon Occupation Permit (OP) or Four-month grace period (Whichever comes first) Who is responsible for the maintenance of Youth Ground? Tenants will be liable for maintenance of equipment, furniture, fixture, lightning & fittings, housekeeping and cleanliness within their designated units. DARe will maintain the common areas. ASEAN Trade Fair 2021 (in conjunction with the 20th Seoul Int’l Café Show) Date: 10-13 November 2021 Venue: Online & COEX Hall B1, Seoul, Korea Organizer: ASEAN Secretariat & ASEAN Embassies in Seoul, Korea Target sector: Food and Beverage Event Information: ASEAN Trade Fair 2021 aims to promote ASEAN F&B products by introducing various coffee/tea and dessert products at the booth as well as to enhance business networks between ASEAN and Korea. The program will be hosted in conjunction with “20th Seoul Int’l Café Show,” one of the largest international fair on F&B industry in Asia. The program will consist of exhibiting products at the fair as well as one-on-one business meetings between ASEAN participating companies and Korean business representatives via online platform Objectives: Support growth of ASEAN SMEs and increased partnership between ASEAN and Korean SMEs in F&B industry.
