Where is Kontena Park located?


It is located at Anggerek Desa Technology Park (ADTP) at the end of Simpang 32-37, Kg Anggerek Desa, next to the multi-storey carpark behind the iCentre building




What are the opening times of Kontena Park?


Opening hours are 8 am to 8 pm from Monday to Sunday with a break from 12 pm to 2 pm during Friday prayers.




What are the modules covered in Kontena Park Programme?


There are seven (7) modules covered in Kontena Park Programme are

  1. Business Lean Canvas Workshop
  2. Financial Practice for MSME
  3. Financial Education for Entrepreneurs
  4. Business Plan Writing Workshop
  5. Food Safety and Handling Workshop
  6. Customer Service Workshop
  7. Social Media Marketing Workshop




Is it compulsory to join DARe’s workshops?


Applicants are compulsory to join DARe’s workshop to further improve their business knowledge and skillsets at no charge




Will DARe help in promoting and marketing the vendors of Kontena Park?


Vendors will receive marketing and promotion support from DARe, and are highly encouraged to conduct own marketing activities.




How much space does Kontena Park have?


The Kontena Park consists of 8 retail spaces and includes serving and kitchen area, water and electricity as well as WiFi connectivity.




How big is the space of each container per vendor?


The total area is 20ft by 20ft, with 10ft by 10ft being the service area and the other 10ft by 10ft being the kitchen area.




How big is the kitchen area?


The kitchen area is 10ft x 10ft. It is an enclosed space and compliant with relevant government departments and authorities. Tenants shall only operate in the kitchen area without future expansion or upgrade to the kitchen.




What other utilities are being provided at Kontena Park?


Kontena Park dining area can accommodate more than 100 pax with a sheltered roof, fans, table and chairs, baby seats, public toilet, and wash basin.

The public can also use iCentre's surau for prayers. Other utilities at the Kontena Park include Wi-Fi and a projector.

The Kontena Park structure and infrastructure are compliant with the government and authorities' requirements.

Tenants shall comply with the requirements including the operational requirements that are required by the government and authorities particularly on food, health, safety, and halal requirements.

Shortlisted vendors will also have access to iCentre facilities*.

How much is the rental?


The rent at Kontena Park is B$350 / month, excluding utility bills. Selected incubatees are required to pay a 2-months refundable deposit in advance.

The 2-months refundable deposit will be deducted for any maintenance and will be used to refurbish the container back to the original structure which will be part of the terms and conditions.




Who is responsible for the maintenance of Kontena Park?


Tenants will be liable for the maintenance of equipment, furniture, fixture, and fittings provided by DARe this includes: cleaning of the dining area and disposal of waste food and material to the rubbish collection area.

DARe will service the manhole and grease trap on a scheduled basis, however, it is the tenant's responsibility to maintain the grease trap daily.




Is there a backup generator on-site?


No, there is no backup generator.




Can tenants put up signage above the container?


Yes, Tenants are required to submit their single drawing and is subject to DARe’s approval. However, DARe will provide building signage for the tenants to publish their logo.




Do I get to choose which container I want to be located in?


No, it will be based on a random draw by the selected vendors.




Do I need to apply for halal certification prior to applying for Kontena Park?


It is not mandatory; however, it is an added bonus for those who already have halal certification




How long is the tenancy agreement?


Vendors will receive one full year of the tenancy provided they meet the requirements set by DARe. Failure to meet the requirements set may potentially end their tenancy.

Vendors may possibly extend their tenancy depending on their performance.




What happens if, in the middle of the contract, I would like to exit the programme?


For an early termination, kindly give us a ONE(1) MONTH written or email notice.




How do I apply for a space at Kontena Park?


Kindly fill in the application form and submit with the required documents to kontenapark@dare.gov.bn




How long will it take for my application to be processed?


Applications will be processed upon receiving complete documentation, with the decision for your application made within 2-3 months.




How will my application be evaluated?


In stage 1, involve with screening the application form based on the completeness and eligibility.

In stage 2 (Compulsory workshop), the applicant will be evaluated based on these criteria:

  • Attendance and Commitment
  • Submission of Business Plan and Financial Projection

In stage 3 (Business Plan and Food Assessment), the applicant will be evaluated based these criteria:

Do I need to show that my business has generated revenue?


Yes, you will need to provide us the details of Business revenue for at least 1 year.




What happens if some of the document required is unavailable?


Any missing data or required documents, will not process the application form.




How will I know if there is a change in the status of my application?


DARe will inform through email if there are any changes in the status for your application.




What is expected from me, as a vendor of Kontena Park?


You will be expected to regularly attend monthly coaching with DARe on the performance of the business/company. DARe will closely monitor performance and recommend any other relevant DARe service or initiative that may further assist you.




What happens if I don’t comply with the terms set by DARe?


Those who do not comply with the terms and conditions will be given notice and may be subject to termination of the contract.




When will the new cycle begin?


Every new cycle of Kontena Park starts operation in April.




Can previous vendor join the new cycle?


Yes, provided this is a new registered business company with sales (less than a year operation). Previous company registered under Kontena Park unfortunately will not be allowed. Kindly refer back to Kontena Park criteria.




Do I have to attend the compulsory classes provided by IBA under the Kontena Park Programme if I have already taken IBA modules?


Yes, you will need to attend the compulsory classes to refresh your knowledge and information on the topics. You can have your other team members to attend the mandatory classes if you are unable to attend.
