Organizer: ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) & Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (GCCEI)


Event information: 

  • ​ASEAN-Korea Startup Week will focus on

    • assisting seed-level ASEAN startups’ growth by introducing ASEAN startups to investors and

    • providing a venue to network with ASEAN and Korean startups and investors.

  • The program is expected to establish itself as a ground for mutual exchange of experiences and good practice for ASEAN and Korean startups.



  • To provide a platform to share innovative ideas and meet potential business partners and consultants/investors

  • To strengthen networking among ASEAN and Korean startups


Expected Outcomes:

  • Play a critical role in enhancing mutual understanding of ASEAN and Korea’s startup ecosystem and players, which is expected to aid soft landing of ASEAN and Korean startups in the global market

  • Establish the “ASEAN-Korea Startup Week” as a flagship program and eventually extend long-term support for startups 


Program Activities:​

  1. Startup Challenge:
    ASEAN startups’ pre-recorded presentations on their business idea and products/services will be featured which will be followed by online Q&A sessions with the judge panel that consist of VCs and ACs.

  2. Business meetings:
    ASEAN startups will be requested to register and upload company information on the ASEAN-Korea Startup Week website, the platform for receiving business meeting requests from startups and investors. ASEAN startups can also request business meetings via website. 

  3. Award ceremony: 
    Based on the total score of performances (scores on company profile application and presentation combined), four startups that received the highest scores will be awarded with cash prize as below:

  • First Place 
    USD 30,000


  • Second Place 
    USD 10,000


  • Third Place (2 recipients)
    USD 5,000


General Eligibility:

  • Startups in early stage

  • Received at least one funding/investment from investors such as incubators, angel investors, venture capital companies, etc.

  • CEO or representative from executive level who is fluent in English

  • Industrial Field: Field related to the technologies and services of the 4IR (e.g., AI, Big Data, AR/VR, Untact, Fintech, IoT, etc.)


Any interested companies may check the application guidelines for steps on how to apply. All application and required documents must be submitted to DARe International Relations and Cooperation (IRC) at no later than 17th October by 2pm.
